Public library patrons

Caitlin

A steadfast patron of her local library. She visits her local library once a week to browse, read, and attend local events such as a yoga class. Caitlin is otherwise a busy professional, single mother, and active member of her community. Caitlin is a college graduate and lives in an suburban area with a nearby library. Caitlin is in her late twenties uses and various mobile devices (tablet, phone).

Caitlin's goals are to quickly find the resources that she is looking for so she can spend more time with her son, discover valuable work-related resources easily so that she can develop herself professionally, and participate in events in her local community so that she can remain connected to it.

Jeremy

A local high school student who visits his library at least twice a week. He uses the WiFi internet access and uses the space to focus on completing his homework. Jeremy also values the opportunity to get out of his house. Jeremy lives in an urban center and lives very close to a nearby library; he also owns a mobile phone.

Jeremy's goals are to complete his school work and find resources to assist in that, as well as have a quiet place to work by himself or with others; all in the interest of completing high school and moving on to college.

Bethany

A voracious reader dedicated to sci-fi and fantasy; Bethany visits her library every couple of weeks to exchange her books and find new things. Bethany is in high school, but works on her school work at home. Bethany owns a variety of mobile devices - to include a tablet, laptop, and mobile phone. Bethany lives in a suburban / rural area with a library a 10 minute drive away.

Bethany's goals are to drop off and pick up her books quickly, discover new things that might interest her, as well as be connected to new events that she might be interested in so that she can expand her horizons.

Amanda

A more occasional visitor to the library; approximately once every couple of months. Amanda highly appreciates the value that the library materials offer her community, but prefers to purchase her own books. Amanda is highly educated and an above average salary for her area. Amanda primarily visits to get out of the house. Amanda is a heavy user of the internet and social media. Amanda owns a variety of devices - to include a laptop, tablet, and mobile phone.

Amanda's goals are to discover new things occurring in her community because she enjoys being aware of them, and find new materials that she might be interested in for both personal/professional use.

Public library administrators

Sandra: A dedicated electronic resources librarian employed by the local library. She is normally delegated management and administration of the library website, calendar, databases, and other electronic resources. Sandra works closely with other departments of the local library to provide patrons various services.
